A Model for Man
This really is the core into my investigations into that Greek imperative "Know Thyself". Do you really know who or what you are? If you did then after you have finished reading these pages I hope that I've convinced you that you don't!
The whole of science is built upon models. Theoretical models designed to explain observable phenomena. For some people the physical models of the body may explain all they know about themselves. For many the models of the emotions and personality types are also useful for social interaction and the business world.
I find the hormonal models particularly interesting, as they are involved with emotions, brain development, and may also be responsible for many types of so-called "divine" experiences.
As one starts to evolve consciously and spiritually, more advanced models are needed to help explain what they observe about themselves. I have tried to collect together here different spiritual model I have seen in the different traditions and teachings and they are presented here roughly in order of increasing complexity.
(I have used the term "Man" to refer collectively to all members of the human race - male, female and any other types).
