Electroluminescent Receiver
I built this up from a kit from David White. It is a standard superhet receiver using lots of MOSFETs and LEDs, so the built receiver looks great in a perspex case. I subsequently modified the receiver to cover all short wave bands, though oscillator stability is not up the standards of a DDS. Quality and performance is very good and it was fun to build.
